AZ Driver – shunter / warehouse combo job

We are currently looking for one outstanding AZ driver to work in a combination job both shunting trailers and working in the warehouse.

This position is in the south end of London and is Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.00pm with the possibility of up to 2 hours of overtime if needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 full year verifiable driving experience
• experience with a shunt truck and asset
• 1 year experience running a forklift
• Acceptable CVOR and Driver Abstracts
• Ideally, be able to drive a manual transmission truck
• Be a team player with a positive attitude
• Must have a valid Ontario driver’s licence in good standing
• Must speak, write and read in English
• (In some cases) A clean criminal search report, current to 30 days
• Good working knowledge of legislation relating to commercial transport activity

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough pre-trip inspections
• Operate in a safe manner consistent with all company and MTO requirements
• Shunt trailers from door to door in a yard
• Complete daily road sheets and maintain log books
• Communicate and coordinate daily activities with dispatcher
• Accurately complete all paperwork requirements
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights and brakes
• run a forklift moving product in the warehouse, loading trailers
• directing boxes through a conveyer system
• working in other parts of the warehouse as needed
